What can I do...
Personally or in the classroom - quite a lot -- just by doing a little.
For example, replacing one incandescent light bulb with an energy-saving compact fluorescent bulb means 1,000 pounds less carbon dioxide is emitted to the atmosphere and $67 dollars is saved on energy costs over the bulb's lifetime. If every household in the US replaced one bulb, Americans would save over $730 million in energy costs every year. It would also reduce GHGs by 4,000,000 tons per year - the same as taking 660,000 cars off the road!
